Our concern with food deserts and throughout the nation influenced our development of this model creating programs that focus on food sustainability. As we gained more knowledge on the positive influences of growing with soil and soil-less gardens we found that it extends into how to maintain health and mental wellness.
Food Sustainability and Healthy Eating
In this model, we focus on growing the right food for sustainability. Many people have a fear of fresh produce - due to their uncertainty of how to handle it: from how to tell if it’s fresh, to how to store it, how to cook it, how to create or follow recipes to eat it. We can create your program to introduce the health benefits of eating healthy - for example what the nutritional benefits such as vitamins and minerals are derived from food.
Health and Mental Wellness
Soil and Soil-less gardening programs can also offering health benefits to Seniors and those with difficult mobility issues by working with tabletop systems and units, they no longer have to physically endure the toll of standard gardening. Additional Health benefits can be deferred by learning what herbs have health benefits.
Soil and Soil-less gardening offers many mental wellness benefits - interacting with nature reduces stress, reduces hypertension, can reduce depression, provides purpose and mood booster. Our Programs incorporate using soil and soil-less gardening to teach our Tactical Healing Tools™ to provide health and wellness through the 5 senses (Sight, Sound, Smell, Taste, and Touch). Our hands-on approach allows people to be fully engaged with the process of healing and mental wellness.
